Antidepressant Discontinuation Trial

Considering coming off an antidepressant? Do it with guidance.

The decision to reduce or stop an antidepressant deserves time, attention, and medical support. Whether you feel ready for a change or simply want to understand your options, HONOUR offers a space to explore the decision carefully.

We begin by reviewing why the medication was prescribed, how you are feeling now, how long you have taken it, and any previous experiences with reducing your dose.

A gradual approach, guided by your response

When stopping is appropriate, we develop a plan to reduce the dose gradually a process known as tapering. The pace is individualized and may take months or longer. Follow-up gives us the opportunity to assess your response and adjust the plan.

We monitor for withdrawal symptoms and the return of depression, anxiety, or the original condition being treated. If symptoms emerge, the plan may need to slow down, pause, or change. Care is coordinated with your existing prescriber when appropriate.

The goal is to help you make a well-supported decision. For some people, continuing medication remains the best option. There is no pressure to stop and no fixed deadline.

Do not stop an antidepressant abruptly or change your dose without medical guidance.

Investment: $800 with three follow ups
